Singer, Songwriter, Worship Leader, Author are all words that describe LaDonna Gatlin. One not included in the description is Major Depressive Disorder. She was diagnosed after an unsuccessful attempt to take her life. She has since learned to cope and thrive in her business.
Hear LaDonna tell her story of struggle to strength. She will then be joined by Jessica Cabrera, AFBF Managing Director of Member Engagement, and Emily Buckman, AFBF Director of Government Affairs, to discuss what resources AFBF has to offer as well as what is currently happening in rural health policy.
Hosted by the AFB Women's Leadership Committee
LaDonna Gatlin is no stranger to farm bureau audiences. She’s performed at countless annual meetings and women's leadership events over the past 25 years...and she's excited to be coming back. Born into "showbiz," LaDonna literally grew up onstage performing with her brothers, the legendary Gatlin Brothers. But in the mid 1970's, this gutsy Texas native chose to follow her heart and “sing a different song” apart from her famous family.
She has shared that "song" everywhere...from corporate powerhouses...to the prison cells of death row. At this year's annual meeting LaDonna will share music at the
Sunday morning worship service. She'll also appear on the Cultivation Center Stage, where she will share her personal testimony about her struggle with Major Depressive Disorder that almost ended her life in 2008.
Her presentations resonate with audiences all over the country because simply put, she's the real deal. You'll laugh...you might even cry...but you'll leave with a song in your heart.
LaDonna's greatest joy is her family. She's been married to her best friend Tim Johnson for fifty years. They have been blessed with two adult children, their wonderful spouses, and seven AMAZING grandchildren...she'll be more than happy to share photos!
